OK, I'm under control now. Have you been shopping, looking, thinking and planning? I have only just begun and have lots more to do. I put much thought into the gifts I buy and try to think of things that will impact the person's life in a positive way without breaking the bank. I will often share something that has been a blessing in my life over the past year, from a great book, useful tool, or health resource.
One of the biggest blessings in my life has been my renewed health, including greater energy, weight loss and increased confidence and love of life. These blessings have come about because of my turning to a whole food diet, eliminating toxins and chemicals, and beginning to use Young Living's products, from essential oils to supplements, cleaners and personal care products. Christmas is a wonderful time for me to share these blessings with others and I have been doing this with gift baskets that my family and friends are excited to receive. Creating themed gift baskets is fun, creative and allows me to share a variety of products with each recipient.
Do-It-Yourself projects are a great way to make sharing more affordable. For those of you who live local to me, we will be hosting many events in early December to share DIY recipes and ideas for creating gift baskets. Watch for these events and feel free to join us.
Decide on the themes of your baskets. Will you create a pampering basket, a pet basket, a winter support basket, a man-of-oils basket, or some other theme? Start collecting some fun containers to use for your baskets. You could use wicker baskets, beautiful bowls, a tea pot, a fishing box, a small bucket, a dog food bowl. Try looking at local thrift shops for unusual and inexpensive containers.
Save your empty essential oil bottles, and purchase some containers for creating DIY items or for dividing up lotions, shampoo or other products that you want your family, friends or co-workers to sample. A great place to purchase containers is a local Hobby Lobby, www.abundanthealth4u.com, or a craft supply store.
Pampering Basket: 1 or 2 oz bottle of Sensation or Lavender Hand and Body lotion, Feminine bath salts (try Ylang Ylang, Spearmint and Lavender, Refreshing foot soak, an ART beauty mask, 2 Slique Tea bags, NingXia Red packets, small container of lip scrub, hand sugar scrub, personalized blend (see below).
Man-of-Oils Basket: 1 or 2 oz bottle of Ortho Ease or Ortho Sport massage oil, jelly jar with Pure Protein Complete Vanilla Spice or Chocolate (2 or 3 servings with directions), NingXia Red packets, beard blend, hair support blend, personalized blend.
Kid's Basket: Fun bath salts, small containers with coconut oil rubs for respiratory support, immune support or tummy support, Mightyvites (children's vitamins), Super C Chewables, Kidscent Slique toothpaste, 1 or 2 bottles from the Kidscent collection (SniffleEase, Owie, SleepIze, TummyGize), 1 or 2 oz of Kidscent shampoo, NingXia Red packets and a few small toys.
Have fun creating your baskets. Last year, each person in my family got a basket and I added a personalized essential oil blend that I created especially for that person. I put these specialized blends in an empty essential oil bottle that I had washed and removed the label. I created a personalized label and added a roller top. The baskets were a great success.
