What has been amazing to me has been sitting with my ankle propped up and watching as the body works its miracle. There is nothing any doctor, medication or exercise can do to heal the injury. Only the body can actually do that. Isn't that fascinating? It blows my mind to think about. Our body is just as stunning and spectacular as any natural wonder or gorgeous sunset.
Of course, there are things I can do to assist my body to heal my sprained ankle, such as rest, ice, compress, and elevate. I can also pack in good nutrition by juicing, drinking NingXia Red and green smoothies, and eating lots of salads. This will help nourish the cells of my body, reduce acidity, supply antioxidants and boost my immune system.
Using pure, potent essential oils has also brought me comfort and delight. From the first moment I fell down the hill and injured my ankle, I've been putting essential oils on my foot, ankle and calf. I always carry them with me. My favorites have been PanAway, Wintergreen, Copaiba, Deep Relief and Purification. I've taken epson salt baths with oils added, and this refreshes and renews me.
