"While I haven't blogged for awhile since I made a serious commitment to finish my dissertation, I am still motivated to do good things to make me happier. One of those things is cleaning. I am not necessarily a neat person, but I find that a cleaner house does make me a bit happier. So this weekend, in addition to cooking, I took time to clean. The first thing I attacked was my oven.
A dirty oven can cause a fire, and mine was dirty. My oven is not a self-cleaning oven so in the past I would have gone out a bought some kind of chemical spray oven cleaner, After a few hours of stinking chemical smells all over my house, my oven would be all clean. But having made the commitment to living a healthier, chemical free life, I didn't want to do that. I read on Susie Weiss's blog, Journey to the Best in Me,(now Young Living With Susie) that you can clean things with baking soda and lemon essential oils or Young Living's oil mix called Thieves (Susie sells the oils if you want to buy some. Just go to her site for more information) [Ha Ha, you are already there]. I mixed the baking soda and lemon oil, spread it over the bottom of my oven and several hours later, I scrubbed it off with a plastic scrubber. Here are the before and after photos.
So now that my oven is all clean, I can start cooking tomorrow for my Whole30 challenge. What shall I make? Maybe meatballs. Melissa'sBacon Burger Balls with Dill Relish and Awesome Sauce sounds really Yummy."
Cathy will be sharing the exciting results of her 30 day challenge soon with us too. Thanks, Cathy for this guest blog. If you're interested in trying a bottle of YL Lemon Oil essential oil, I'd be happy to help you with that.
