Known for its relaxing scent and ability to aid sleep, lavender is used in many Young Living blends designed to help with stress or sleep, blends such as RutaVaLa, Stress Away, and Tranquil and the supplement Sleep Essence. The first time I used Young Living's lavender oil, I slept straight through the night until 5:30. Previous to that, I had been walking three and four times every night. What a gift to sleep more deeply and peacefully.
Lavender has also been my oil of choice when I have some seasonal issues when my eyes and my nose want to run. I ingest 5-6 drops of Young Living lavender oil (not sure of the purity of other brands) and within an hour, my discomforts are gone and I can focus on the tasks at hand. I am able to work in the garden, hike or enjoy a breezy day with delight instead of dread.

Lavender may be used to soothe and cleanse common cuts, bruises, and skin irritations. It is known for its ability to enhance skin health and beauty. I love my Young Living Lavender Hand and Body Lotion, especially in the winter. With the dryer air, indoors and outside, my skin can take a beating. Applying this lotion will keep my hands from drying out and my knuckles from cracking and bleeding. It also gets rid of the alligator skin on my legs that is usually present in the winter.
Lavender oil is gentle enough to use with infants. When both my grandsons were newborns, we used small amounts of lavender in their bath water and on their skin, especially if they were getting a red bottom. Lavaderm is a spray that can be very effective on skin, especially rashes.
Lavender is an adaptogen, and therefore can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances. When in doubt as to what to use, try Young Living's lavender oil. I am sure you will love it as much as I do.
