Did you know that the essential oil flowing through the leaves, stems, roots, flowers and fruit of a plant help to combat viruses, harmful bacteria, protect against mold and fungus, maximize oxygen use, help release toxins from the cells and serve as a transport system within the plant. Essential oils that are extracted using low temperature, low pressure distillation and are still living can do the same thing in the cells of the human body.
There are oils that are especially supportive of the immune system and I'd like to share a few of my favorites. I love Thieves oil and Inner Defense capsules. After being with others who are coughing, sneezing or complaining of not feeling well, I will rub Thieves oil on the bottom of my feet and take an Inner Defense capsule internally. Inner Defense contains the same oils found in Thieves (cinnamon bark, cloves, rosemary, eucalyptus and lemon) as well as oregano and lemongrass.
One mother recently shared with me that a teacher from the school that her children attend called her at home to ask what she was doing to keep her kids healthy. It seems the average absence was three per student. This mother had been putting Thieves oil on her children's feet and their immune system had stayed strong and they had not been sick even one day.
Simple, effective and gentle enough for children. What could be better for assisting the body and keeping it strong. Combined with a healthy diet, essential oils are a great enhancement for healthy living.
