I joined Anytime Fitness gym several years ago and for a long time would just walk the treadmill or use the elliptical machine. I was consistent for a while, but then began to become disinterested. For personal reasons, I had to put my membership on hold for a while, but when I recently returned I was given a few months to try out the group classes.
I have to say, I love it! I was dreading getting back into a routine and trying to figure out for myself how to make working out more interesting. Through these classes, I have met some great people, been pushed to do more than I would do alone, and been challenged to get out of bed on cold, dreary mornings because I have a fitness class to go to.
Last month, a leader with Young Living agreed to mentor me. Once a week, I share with her what I am doing, what my goals and desires are, and what steps I am taking. She helps me decide what my next steps should be and then holds me accountable to do what we agree on. Knowing I have to call and check in with her has challenged me to take steps when I don't feel like it or am afraid, to push through my defenses and excuses, and to reach levels of success that I had not previously known.
The lesson in this for me is what the scriptures say in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10:
Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to be an encouragement to you. I hope my words bring you hope and ignite your fire to live a full and healthy life.
Here's lookin' at ya!
