I was talking with one cat lover who has five cats. She shared several great natural remedies with me that I thought some of you might really appreciate.
Bad Breath and Red Gums - Using just a 1/8 tsp. of organic, cold pressed coconut oil, rub the oil with your finger on the gums of the cat in question. Do what you can, as the cat will probably squirm. In just one application, this woman said she noticed a 70% improvement in the cats gum condition. Repeat as needed.
Saving Teeth - Using coconut oil on the gums also improves the condition of the teeth, gums and digestion. This has saved this cat owner over $300 per tooth,
Flea treatment - Instead of paying $12 per cat every month for Frontline flea protection (and having to deal with chemicals, digestive upset and other side effects), my friend started using Young Living Purification oil (a blend of Lemongrass, Rosemary, Melaleuca Alternifolia, Myrtle, and Citronella) on her cats. She rubs a drop on her hands and then pets each cat. She has also used the coconut oil in the same fashion and the fleas have not been a problem.

Cuts, scrapes and wounds - Vitamin E also is said to work well for wounds. She had one cat whose belly had been shredded and she used the Vitamin E (from opening capsules, she says this is the best way to get the Vitamin E as the liquid in bottles does not seem to work as well) on the wound and it healed quickly and well. Vitamin E is known to help with scarring too.
Natural Kitty Litter - Essential oils, like Purification, can be added sparingly to baking soda and used in unscented kitty litter. It smells great and keeps odors to a minimum.
Young Living essential oils are wonderful for cats, but most must be diluted as the cat's body weight and organs cannot tolerate strong doses. Often just diffusing the oil (Peace and Calming for anxiety or fear) or using the oil diluted with a carrier oil is enough for many treatments. There are books written on Pets and Essential Oils and vets who use Young Living oils and supplements in their practices. For several good titles, visit www.abundanthealth4U.com.
