Only six months after she began her adventures, family needs invited her to postpone her dream and put Belle in storage for an unknown period of time. Without hesitation, she unselfishly embraced the change in direction and the detour to her plans. She lovingly embraced the new adventure and the unknown territory. I am so blessed and grateful for her choice. Her willingness to serve has enabled me to embrace my own detour.
As a single woman in her late 50's, I am still rebuilding financially after my divorce. Living alone means I am responsible for all the bills, from rent, utilities to health insurance, car payment, food and whatever. While I dreamed of continuing this retired lifestyle, God began to invite me to take a new route and to use my education as a counselor, obtained later in life, and my passion for people, to serve others as a therapist/counselor. I embraced this new challenge and am now well on my way to impacting the lives of children and adolescents here in Alabama. Of course, I will continue to share my passion for essential oils and a wellness lifestyle and my days will be very full.
Life is full of detours. We may think we are heading in one direction and suddenly feel the call to "take a right turn" and head toward a new need or opportunity. The key is to remain open to this adventure of life and to listen to the voice of God as He calls us to follow the plan he has for our lives. This is where we will find our joy and purpose in life.
