So, have you smiled today? Have you taken time to be grateful for all that you GET to do, eat and enjoy? Have you looked at your progress to date with an appropriate sense of pride and self-congratulations? Have you laughed at your mistakes or at how you look in yoga pants? Have you taken time to do something fun and out of the box that might inspire and refresh you?
I ask you these questions, because I need to remind myself not to get too intense in my quest for better health. Yes, I am doing a cleanse, trying to exercise regularly and taking time for personal development but there are times when I just need to decompress and make time to laugh out loud. Can anyone relate?
I've been challenged to slow the pace and take some time to reflect on what brings me joy. Here are a few of the inspirations for my joy this week:
- My grandson turned one this week and his family celebrated his birth with a "fruit cake". Literally it was all sorts of fruit made into a cake. He was as happy as a clam and the other children at the celebration could not wait for their "piece of cake". One little person exclaimed with delight, "Oh, is that kiwi!" like it was a big piece of chocolate. I am so grateful that my son and his wife have chosen to share healthy living with my grandsons, and that they are helping others to see that healthy options can be fun. (My second grandson is pictured above as he "shops" at Whole Foods.) This brings me such joy!
- A friend of mine attended a talk given by Russ Terry who wrote My Gratitude Journal. She immediately thought of me, went to talk to Russ, bought his book and had it signed for me. I was so blessed by her thoughtfulness and am now being blessed by reading it and starting my second gratitude journal. This brings me such joy!
- I have team members in Young Living that have been faithfully learning about natural healing, practicing healthier thinking, making healthier food choices and learning how to share healthy options with others. Watching their success (I now have 3 team members who have reached the Executive rank in Young Living! Woo Hoo, way to go!) brings me such joy!
- I love my new apartment and realize as the cooler weather sets in that I feel very snug and am looking forward to the new seasons of my life. I am excited that I won't have to shovel snow anymore, have a car port for my car, and have friendly neighbors. Life is full of surprises and windy roads, but there is always good to be found along the way. My comfortable, simple home brings me such joy!
Thanks for reading my blog. That brings me such joy!
